Amino Acid Profiling and SDS-PAGE Analysis of Protein Isolates Obtained from Nonconventional Sources

Proteins play an imperative role in enhancing the nutritional status of human body. The present study was designed to determine molecular weight protein isolates prepared from defatted oilseeds, i.e., sesame, flaxseed, and canola, using SDS-PAGE. electropherogram revealed bands ranging 15 65 kDa. Furthermore, proteins were subjected amino acid profiling followed by calculation score with reference requirement for preschool children. results indicated that sesame (SPI) exhibited highest values aromatic acids, histidine, isoleucine, valine. However, maximum sulfur-containing acids depicted flaxseed (FPI). Moreover, lysine content canola (CPI). Results better profile quality proteins, capable meet requirements essential especially preschoolers. digestibility corrected (PDCAAS) vitro (IVPD) also determined. Conclusively, oilseeds exhibit better-quality a balanced profile. By potential utilization numerous food products, these can pivotal fulfilling individuals, developing economies.
